Fears to Fathom: Home Alone is a horror survival game inspired by actual people and events. If you want a game that will make you wonder what's hiding in your closet and if there's someone under your bed, this is the game for you. Even the roughest of horror movie fans had some problems sleeping after playing this one. The indie game comes loaded with stories that appear in each episode. While you might know about some before you play, others are completely new.

The developers behind this game plan to release new episodes in the future. With Fears to Fathom: Home Alone, you get an idea of what to expect from those future titles. It places you inside a large home where you're all alone as invaders attempt to get inside. As you move through the house, you never know where the invaders are and what you need to do to stay safe. The game has an unsettling feel to it that may leave you on the edge of your seat and wondering if you can get through to the end.

To make things even more unsettling, the game asks you to play as a teenage boy named Miles. As you move around his home, you'll find narration on your screen that adds to the spooky feeling. Miles will also get phone calls and messages, but you never know who is on the other end of the line. Each move that you make determines whether Miles lives happily ever after or falls into the hands of the home invaders. While there are only two endings, you'll have fun changing your choices to unlock them both.

Fears to Fathom: Home Alone is just one episode in the Fears to Fathom series. The developers already released another episode and announced plans to introduce several more. Starting with Home Alone is a good way to see what the other titles will look like and whether you can handle the scary scenes. The only real fault with the game is that you won't want to play it multiple times. Once you reach the good ending and then hit the bad ending, there's no reason to keep playing because you already know what to expect. Another issue is the overall gameplay. Even those who loved Fears to Fathom: Home Alone wish that it took longer than 20 to 30 minutes to complete.

While the game is a little too dark for teens and players who hate horror movies, adults and older teens will get a kick out of it. It might remind you of those teenage years you spent home alone. For a game that will leave you jumping at every noise you hear inside and outside, go with Fears to Fathom: Home Alone.
